Shoe storage that hides them?

I have an idea in my head of a shoe cupboard of solid oak or similar that will store lots of shoes in my hallway without looking like a shoe cupboard. We currently have stacking shoe racks and as you enter the house you feel like you're in a cupboard as there are also coat hooks on the wall. There is no room for fitted cupboards so it would have to be free-standing.

Anyone seen anything like this? There are four of us and the DCs will have feet as big as ours quite soon. Ideally the cupboard could hold 20-30 pairs of shoes.

Have you thought about getting a monks' bench?

Ikea is your best bet. They have lovely slim shoe cupboards

We don't have room for a bench

i'd love an attractive solution to shoes at the front door!
