duvet few times per year
bedding fortnightly
shower curtain when looking grubby, probably every couple of months-
jeans rarely last for more than one wear - baby, toddler and pets.
windows downstairs a few times per year. Upstairs..um..I think the cleaner did them at some point.
Hoover - Roomba is working daily. Upstairs (dogs not allowed) weekly.

echt · 09/04/2016 22:15

Duvet - never, but they get aired from the upstairs balcony in sunny weather, so as we live in Australia, lots.

Bedding - fortnightly.

No shower curtains but screens about bi-monthly. Ish.

Don't wear jeans.

Windows - twice a year inside, annually outside, though dog-snot removed more often (loads of floor level windows).

Hoover - upstairs about every three weeks; stairs, weekly; downstairs several times week as we have no hall and live in a sandy area. The upside is no mud.

idontlikealdi · 09/04/2016 22:50

Christ, I've never washed the duvet - didn't realise I was supposed to!

Bedding every two weeks - thanks mil:)

Hoovering when needed - usually daily at least downstairs thanks to dog and 4yo twins.

idontlikealdi · 09/04/2016 22:52

Don't have a shower curtain - spray the screen every shower.

Wash the jeans when they need it could be daily or a week or so.

Clean the Windows - never - mil does it:)

Skivvywoman · 11/04/2016 09:44

TheSunHasGotItsHatOn · 11/04/2016 10:01

Our duvet is washed monthly, (dh is asthmatic and we were told to do this by consultant.) kids is washed when needed or twice a year if no accidents or vomitin.
Bedding- everyones twice a week
Hoovering- whole house daily every morning then kitchen, dinning room and playroom usually a couple more times during the day.
Wash jeans after every wear.
No shower curtain but clean shower cubicle everyday, when I clean bathroom.
Windows- inside weekly outside monthly by window cleaner.

AdoraBell · 11/04/2016 10:02

Duvet - never have but the cover gets washed once a year, I use a top sheet. DC's duvets get washed as and when needed - I refuse to do them every time they get a tiny mark because I'd doing them every bloody day.

Bedding - weekly or fortnightly depending on various factors

Shower curtain - don't have one

Jeans - I practically live in jeans. Old ones for slobbing around on my own/housework etc once a week. New ones for Interacting with other humans after 2 uses

Windows - DH does that

Hoover - daily unless dogs are in kennels. So, returned from holiday on Saturday, dogs in kennels until later today = I haven't bothered yet but will Hoover before I collect the dogs.

5Hearts · 11/04/2016 10:57

Get your duvet washed? kingsize - never, Single - every 6 months

Wash a pair of jeans you wear all the time? 2-4 days
Clean your windows? some every week/some once a year
Hoover your house? Once a week - needs to be much more than this! Planning on getting a cordless one for upstairs, hoping that will help

RudeElf · 11/04/2016 11:00

Get your duvet washed? every 6 months
Change your bedding? weekly
Was the shower curtain? its a screen, washed weekly
Wash a pair of jeans you wear all the time? maybe every 3/4 wears
Clean your windows? monthly by window cleaner outside and roughly the same by me inside
Hoover your house? weekly

I would like to know how often people wash their sofas especially if they have pets.

Annarose2014 · 11/04/2016 11:11

When we had a dog we had to wash the covers on the kitchen sofa every couple of weeks. Massive pain in the arse!

I am Shock at people who hoover 365 days a year. But then I loathe it. We do it twice a week and hate it so much we're in the process of ripping out the carpet. Sweeping the floor seems easier somehow!

RudeElf · 11/04/2016 11:14

I'm thinking of getting a roomba so i dont even have to think about hoovering most of the time.

My sofa is leather and i'm having to wipe it down a couple of times a day. Ive taken to tucking an old blanket in over the seat cusions so i can whip it off at night and wash it. Also in an attempt to stop doggy claws scratching it.

OliviaDunham · 11/04/2016 11:20

People really wear a pair of jeans for 2 weeks?!?! After a couple wears mine are in the wash, they're not dirty, but need a freshen up!

Beds changed weekly

Hoover everyday

Windows hmmmmmmmmmm

Shower curtain gets replaced when needed

Thankfulforeveryday · 11/04/2016 11:54

Get your duvet washed? When I swap from summer to winter duvet
Change your bedding? Every Sunday
Was the shower curtain? Every Monday when the cleaner comes Wink
Wash a pair of jeans you wear all the time? 1-2 wears
Clean your windows? Every month by window cleaner outside, inside by DH every couple of months.
Hoover your house? Downstairs everyday, upstairs once/twice a week

harverina · 11/04/2016 12:22

Duvet - I don't we just replace them when they are by their best. Unless we have a spillage etc.

Shower - weekly it's a screen though.

Jeans - every 2/3 wears max

Windows - outside when my window cleaner bothers to turn up which is approx monthly. Inside probably every couple of months apart from my front door which is frequently due to sticky fingers

Hoover - a few times per week if we have time and are home. Always a minimum of twice per week

ChesterFuckingDraws · 11/04/2016 12:35

Get your duvet washed? Never it gets aired Outside (weather permitting) and I buy a new one every couple of years!
Change your bedding? Weekly without fail.
Was the shower curtain? Glass screen so cleaned after every shower
Wash a pair of jeans you wear all the time? After 2wears
Clean your windows? Monthly, it's always an argument whose turn it is!
Hoover your house? Twice a week or more if there's visible bits!

AdoraBell · 11/04/2016 13:03

Rude leather sofa here, and the filthy beasts are not allowed on it. They do like to sneak onto the beds though. I use throws over the duvet covers for this reason. They usually get washed when I do the rest of the bedding.

AdoraBell · 11/04/2016 13:07

Those who buy new duvets instead of cleaning it, why? Confused

AdoraBell · 11/04/2016 13:12

Anna I also hate hoovering but we have far too many German shepherds and if I skip a day or two we might get lost under a layer of hairs.

papooshka · 11/04/2016 13:16

Duvet only when we switch summer/winter over so probably every 6 months.
Change bedding - 2-3 weeks
Shower curtain - never

Windows outside once a month with cleaner, inside never
Hoover once a week

kansasmum · 15/04/2016 16:08

Clean your windows? Monthly outside by window cleaner, inside about every 6 weeks.

Hoover your house? Daily.

SanityAssassin · 16/04/2016 00:06
