Fluff and dust

Why oh why is there so much of it?! I feel as though I am constantly dusting (wet dust with ecloth), but half an hour later, it all looks dusty/fluffy again. No carpets (wooden floors with flat weave rugs). No pets. And it's like this in all rooms. Should I just lower my standards a bit or am I doing something wrong?

How do you clean your wooden floors? Carpet holds dust - hoovering removes it - but wooden floors and flat weave rungs don't and draughts, air circulation, people walking past will move it around.

wowfudge hoover daily, and steam mop every 3rd day or so.
