Can you recommend: actual waterproof sheets,

We are renovating and about to move back home and need:

Waterproof sheets for young children; sheets that actually ARE waterproof... Is it possible to also have comfortable, quiet ones?!

A double mattress, don't mind spending on this. I looked at EVE as they do returns if you don't like it.

Pillows.

Oh and I have a towel dilemma too- washing and drying of towels drives me bonkers as they are so bulky. Can I go microfibre is is it horrid? Is there half way ground?

I have found the ones from White Company although pricey are the best. They do discount cards and I also wait for sale time as you can usually get discounts then too

Hippy Chick - you can get them on Amazon.

My friend with small children and a big bed that they liked to climb into with her had the genius idea of looking at incontinence products aimed at older people. She found sheets for double beds here: www.ageukincontinence.co.uk/incontinence-shop/incontinence-bed-and-chair-protection.html

I have always found the IKEA waterproof sheets really good (don't tumble dry them though). And cheap!

My two have these underneath their normal sheets. They stop accidents getting to the mattress - tried and tested by my son!

I have these, they are brilliant. Have been washed about hundred times and are still going strong.

Hippychick - not cheap, but soft, comfortable, silent and indestructible.

Another vote for Hippychick sheets - come in all sizes from cot to kingsize. We have had some of ours for over 5 yrs and they look new.

My DC have Asda terry towelling waterproof sheets - I've never had one leak and DS really put them to the test.

DS also has a really lovely soft terry towelling one from John Lewis that can be tumble dried. Its lovely. Again its never leaked. A lot more expensive though.

Double bed mattress - at least 1000 pocket sprung - the more the better but also pricer.

I don't think microfibre towels would be nice - I have a microfibre "turbie" towel for my hair, no way I'd use it on the rest of my body. The other more drastic solution is a larger capacity washing machine and tumble dryer (9-10kg are becoming fairly common place now). Obviously you'd probably want to wait until the old ones need replacing. Much easier washing and drying lots of thick fluffy towels that way.

Try pestemel or hammam towels. They are thin, flat weave towels made of cotton or linen which are really absorbent and dry quickly. They get better the more you use and wash them too. TK Maxx seem to have quite a lot of them at the moment and you can buy them online.
