where do I buy plain white vinegar NOT distilled white malt vinegar.

I cannot find it. Sainsburys Asda and Tesco only have the White malt vinegar. Tried Wilkos but no joy. I want to make my own cleaner but can only find the bloody malt stuff!
Any ideas??

Oh I do too Openme 39p from Tesco. Actually does the no malt one not smell? I hate the smell of vinegar but love the cleaning effect (on glass in particular)

Just use the distilled white stuff, it does the same job

Actually, there's no such thing as "vinegar" is there? It must be malt vinegar, cider vinegar, wine vinegar, rice vinegar mustn't it? What do you want your vinegar made from OP? I think Dragnboysmum must be right and it's the same thing?

I would like to know the answer too - DH loves vinegar to descale and clean stuff, but the smell!

Sigh, I've been obliged to Google now and I'm going to stick with my 38p malt vinegar in a plant spray bottle rather than the "special" cleaning vinegar which I -bet is the same thing-- at £4.29 on Amazon

OP you found the right stuff. Distilled vinegar and white vinegar are synonymous.

I thought malt vinegar was barley based and the white vinegar wasn't therefore stinks less. I read somewhere that malt vinegar can wreck the finish in taps etc but maybe it's a ploy to make me spend £££!!!
So the clear distilled malt vinegar will clean my glass and will the fish and chip shop smell soon dissipate?!!!

I use the stuff that Wilkos sell in a spray bottle. The smell goes in a few moments.
