Spin speeds of washing machines

Apart from a shorter drying time - is there any advantage to faster spin speeds? In fact may there not be a long term advantage to the life of your clothes?

Just for some background - we don't use a tumble dryer, we air dry everything and it's not a big issue for us how long it takes to dry.

Air dry inside? It will lessen the moisture lost to your house, and hence soaking into the fabric of the house.
So, less condensation and mould potential.
The clothes drying faster, ime, also lessens any potential musty smell on them, which I think appears if they take too long to dry.

Oh, but meant to say, it also depends on what your looking at the difference between
800 v 1200, don't even think of 800
1400 v1500, don't stress.
