Seal on oven door

Last night my dinner took hours to cook and steam was coming out from the bottom of the oven door. On inspection the rubber seal at the bottom of the door has disintegrated so presumably this is the cause. Does anyone know how to replace this? Thanks

You can buy replacement seals by oven type or universal seals (more fiddly?). If the seal just needs glueing in you can ise special glue (dont use normal superglue!) I used a company called ovendoorglue

Thanks, the seal has actually disintegrated so I think a new one is needed. I have no idea what make my oven is, it was here when we moved in and doesn't have a brand name anywhere that I can see. So I will look for a universal one. Thanks!

The people who come and clean your oven for you can change them.

I've never had someone come and clean my oven although that it is quite tempting to get someone in to do both jobs at once

I was in the same boat - droopy rubber (oo-er). Saw this. Off to e-bay, ordered glue. Sorted.

eSpares sell oven door seals - including universal ones (which I assume means they can be customised to fit any oven).

Dh has bought replacement parts for various household appliances from eSpares, and we have found them to be efficient and reliable.
