Old pillows- where should they go to die?

I have old cheapo knackered out of shape synthetic pillows that are generally a bit gross. Slightly reluctant to fill landfill with them - anything else I should/can be doing with them?
TIA

I suspect they have limited use for recycling but may be wrong and probably will never degrade?

washing and tumbling them at the laundrette could extend their life a bit
we used to use knackered old pillows in knackered old cases as cushions in the playhouse in the garden

or dismantle and use cotton case for dusters and stuffing for soft toys?

could you not empty them bit at a time into the garden, the birds can use it for nesting materials??

I'd wash them in the machine.

And use them to fill draft excluders, dolls, cushions, etc.

Thanks for this, had to rush out so sorry for post and dash! Will try launderette in a last ditch attempt to de-yuck them.
