There are so many! Varying in price from ~150 to ~450.

We've recently come into a good chuck of money and are splashing out on a new vacuum (our only treat! Moving house soon so sticking the rest on the new mortgage) so theoretically money is no object, but why would I go for the pricey one when the cheaper one is just as good for us?
We have 1 cat, wooden floors downstairs and carpets upstairs, quite big house (new one will be) and no allergies etc.
I'd prefer an energy efficient machine, don't really care about noise. So which one should I go for? Is the top price one really any better? And do they all come in only one or two colours?!
Thanks in advance!

We have just bought the Cat & Dog and have been very happy with it. We have two kittens, hard floors downstairs and carpet upstairs.

It is quiet and burgundy. My only quibble is there isn't a perfect attachement for doing the stairs - I am using the upholstery nozzle-thingy. WHat I'd like is a teeny, tiny powered brush head. Bit I don't think that is a thing.

So, yes, we like it. Much more than my ancient Dyson cylinder which had become very rubbish.
