Just what the title says really!

I love pegging washing out in fact am slightly obsessed and I've been itching to do it since the weather is not as bad !

It's a lovely sunny day but cold so my DH think it's crazy that I've pegged the washing out!

Am I really that crazy? Am I the only one that loves pegging washing out?

I hope it dries now! X

Why not? It will dry in the sun, but very slowly.

I remember my mum pegging out a load of cloth nappies one bright but very cold winter's morning.

When she went to check on them at lunchtime, they'd frozen solid! Although they were also a lot drier than they'd been first thing, so she moved them to the indoor airer to finish off.

KanyesVest · 25/02/2016 09:47

It was the same here yesterday and I got a full load dry enough to bring in and iron last night, so I'm with you. I even put our superking bedding in the washing machine last night to do the same, but no hope of sun today, so no point in putting it out. I'm a bit cross.

I put all the school white shirts out yesterday in the cold sunshine...made ironing more pleasant, love that dried outside smell.
Just remember to get it in before the sun goes down, otherwise it will get damp.

creamoftomato · 25/02/2016 09:48

Mines been out all this week and has been dry but cold (and lovely and fresh) when I've brought it in. I'm thrilled the suns out and the dehumidifer is getting a rest Smile

I did notice that none of my neighbours have followed suit though, they probably think I am mad but never mind!

ICanSeeForMiles · 25/02/2016 09:49

I've had washing out every day this week Grin
It's currently still overcast, but as soon as the sun appears my bedding will be getting fired out on the line.

SoozeyHoozey · 25/02/2016 09:49

Ha no I never peg washing out. I'm strictly a tumble dryer girl!

NeedSomePeaceAndQuite · 25/02/2016 09:50

I've been thinking the same thing, no one else around me has apart from one lady who puts her out all year round even during rain so I didn't really think that was a good measure to go by but I think I might now

MrsJayy · 25/02/2016 09:53

I have been putting washing out the last 3 days it has dried mostly jeans have been damp but 10 minutes in the drier they have been fine.

Lweji · 25/02/2016 09:54

Definitely not crazy.
If it's sunny or windy it will dry at least enough to just finish off at home or the drier.

MrsJayy · 25/02/2016 09:54

My neighbours have had washing out too

iPost · 25/02/2016 09:56

she went to check on them at lunchtime, they'd frozen solid! Although they were also a lot drier than they'd been first thing, so she moved them to the indoor airer to finish off.

Sublimation

I've heard of it, but never tried it. Mostly because I tend to hibernate inside the house when it goes below zero. Don't want to have to go out in the cold and collect the washing.

Poledra · 25/02/2016 09:56

Not at all! I washed DD's filthy school coat and got it outside - it did need finshed off indoors by the radiator but it did all the dripping on the grass instead of the floor inside Grin

MrsJayy · 25/02/2016 09:57

Oh some towels were damp but i folded them left them on the worktop over night they were dry this morning

feetheart · 25/02/2016 09:57

Mine goes out all year round (though not in the rain, that's bonkers :)).
We don't have a tumble drier and even if the washing is still damp when it comes in it smells lovely.
No idea what my neighbours do or think

Doilooklikeatourist · 25/02/2016 09:58

My washing went on the line yesterday , ironed it last night .
All lovely fresh and dry
Washing basket is by the back door ready and waiting for the mist to clear , then it'll be on the line

DramaAlpaca · 25/02/2016 09:59

I love the smell of line dried washing, so YANBU.

Still too damp & cold here sadly, so I'm making the most of my lovely new tumble drier.

jazzandh · 25/02/2016 10:02

Yes, all year round here if it's not too damp. Sunny and cold works as does overcast and windy........

Sun is round on my line now and I'm about to go and hang a couple of loads out!

CrossfireHurricane · 25/02/2016 10:03

I have started to peg washing out.
It's one household task I thoroughly enjoy Smile

deepdarkwood · 25/02/2016 10:04

I have had washing out a few times in the last few weeks, and will do so again today. YANBU!

LucyMouse · 25/02/2016 10:12

I do so love a "hanging the washing out thread". This is the first one I've seen this year, so thank you OP.
I think I would be hanging my washing out today if it wasn't for the fact that I have to tramp across the soggy wet grass to do so.

MrsJayy · 25/02/2016 10:12

I couldnt work out my roatary drier when we moved house i know it sounds daft but i had 20 odd years of washing lines nice and straight the rotary made me dizzy Grin

dalmatianmad · 25/02/2016 10:14

My bedding is currently out there, couldn't give a shiny shit whether the neighbours hang their's out!

whojamaflip · 25/02/2016 10:23

Changed the beds this morning and they're all hanging out on the line now - love the smell of outside dried clothes Smile

TomYumSoup · 25/02/2016 11:41

I put mine out all year round if it's sunny. Don't mind if it comes in slightly frozen as it smells lovely.

Passthecake30 · 25/02/2016 11:45

Washing doesn't seem to dry for me outside unless it's at least 16c so I don't bother....!
