Which Hoover?

I have dark brown carpets and a very fluffy Ragdoll cat. Not a good combo. My Hoover died and the manufacturer has taken it back to be fixed, leaving me drowning in a sea of fluff. I used to have a Dyson but hear they aren't as good as they used to be. So what should I buy? I've heard good things about Miele.

If you want a cylinder, go for a Miele or a Henry. If you want an upright, have a look at Sebo vacuums. Definitely the best I've ever used.
