Best stuff for unblocking en-suite shower plug?

What is the best stuff to buy to dissolve hair/gunk in the plug (en-suite). I have been using one of those manual suction things but it doesn't work anymore.

Immac. Or nair or a similar hair remover. They are great. Apply. Wait. Rinse.

Caustic soda if nothing else works.
It's one to do when little kids are in bed! Toxic & horrid but v effective.

I've used one of these. Available from any plumbing or diy store, I think. Search for something like drain snake or plumbing snake. It's slim enough to fit down the holes in a plughole.
