I have just send second vacuum cleaner (vax and zanussi) back as total rubbish, didn't work the same after a few weeks. I have my eye on a good Miele now, or shall i go for a Dyson? Which Miele or Dyson do you love?

I have now bought the C3 power line and love it! It is amazing, i don't believe there is the tiniest atom of dust left on my carpet, it almost sucks in the carpet itself. It glides along really easily and also the cord is much longer than on previous vacuum cleaners. All in all 10 out of 10 for me. Any changes in the next 20 years, i let you know!

Miele, my days on couldn't cope with pet hair

Mine is the c1 junior, Best Buy ever!
I'm generally death to a Hoover....

I am thinking of buying the Miele Complete C3 Powerline vacuum cleaner - would be interested in your review now you have had the vacuum for a while?

CaptainCorellisBanjo · 28/03/2016 18:40

Have the Miele cat and dog and it is really fantastic. Have had Miele washing machine, drier and dishwashers in this home and previous. They usually last forever - my brother is still using the washing machine purchased in 2001 - but if they do go wrong as they have in my current home then the customer service is really appalling.

Miele Cat and Dog here, best vacuum I've ever had. Both my Dysons were rubbish.

Dungandbother · 28/03/2016 19:56

There are two filters on the Miele.
It is the BEST Hoover so glad you agree with most of us.

But there are TWO filters. One you get in the bag box and it's easy to change. The other is inside the hexagon air filter thing. Change it yearly if heavy use. You have to purchase it separately.

The most likely reason a PP said theirs got too hot and blew up would be the 2nd filter wasn't changed.

Had mine fixed this year, £95 collected and returned to my door.
So now in its 11th year.

In order of favourite , Which? like:

Complete c3 celebration ecoline plus
Compete c3 ecoline plus
Complete c3 silence ecoline plus
Complete c3 celebration power line
Complete c3 cat and dog

All best buys and only a few points between them so I'm probably just going to get the cheapest. Dc25 and dc40 are also best buys I think.

hollyisalovelyname · 28/03/2016 20:43

I have a Miele Cat and Dog. It's great.
I also have the hand held Dyson for little jobs. It's great for crumbs or instead of a dustpan.

DragonboysMum · 28/03/2016 20:57

My Miele has got to be about 12 years old (if not a bit more). Still going strong. Definitely worth it and I'd buy another any day.
I had a Dyson before and really didn't think it lived up to the hype.

DarkBlueEyes · 28/03/2016 21:39

Miele car and dog!!!

DancingDinosaur · 28/03/2016 21:42

I had a dyson cat and dog that wasn't very good and always getting blocked. I was lucky enough to product test the mielle cat and dog for mumsnet. Mielle all the way, it is something special and is really powerful. I'd definitely buy it over any other brand, I love it.

CalliopeTorres · 28/03/2016 21:42

Ooh I've just bought the shark lift away. It's bloody fantastic.

RubberDuck · 29/03/2016 09:21

Dung: no, mine used to overheat constantly and it was a mechanical fault - changed filters regularly. I know this because it was like it from new (just less frequently, and not repeatable enough for me to endure the hassle of sending it back under warranty)

Finally ditched the damn thing as the rollers got wobbly and started making a horrible noise. Yes, I'd removed all the hair that had wrapped around the roller (damn near CONSTANTLY - I don't even own a cat or dog, but apparently human hair kills it really quick).

I now have a Dyson DC40 (upright) with one of those ball things for manoeuvrability and it's brilliant (touch wood). No more hoover bags (which the Miele sure would get through, and they weren't cheap!).

And yes, I'm cleaning the Dyson filters regularly too.

There is just no contest. Miele: best high end brand of white products. Our dish washer is 15 years old and still as silent as efficient. Our vacuum cleaner is the cheapest in the classic range (with bags). 5 years old, survived thru one refurbishing and one extension, and works like a dream. Ten years ago I bought a Dyson high end vacuum cleaner. Worked poorly and broke after two years. Never again.

beanaseireann · 27/01/2019 10:26

Was talking to a man in the vacuum cleaner repair shop.
He said Miele wins hands down over Dyson and a stick Dyson shouldn't be your main vacuum, that he believed they were made to be a lightweight supplementary handy vacuum.

Equimum · 30/01/2019 21:04

I love my Miele!

Chottie · 04/02/2019 18:56
