Where can I buy cheap bedding?

PotentialFootnerHorror · 13/02/2016 09:32

I want to replace our bedding, it's all over 10 years old and faded.

I haven't the spends for posh stuff, or even nice if I'm honest. I just want two sets of plain bedding to look new as I've been clearing out the whole house and the bedding stops the bedrooms looking nice and fresh.

Looking for very cheap and plain.

Argos and Wilko's both do cheap ranges of 'basics' type bedding, if you're not too fussy about colours or designs.

sassytheFIRST · 13/02/2016 09:33

Matalan, sainsburys.

WileHallion · 13/02/2016 09:34

Asda (fantastic quality)
Tesco
Wilkos
Yorkshire Linen Co
EBay

Tk maxx has cheap good stuff or any of the supermarkets

reallybadidea · 13/02/2016 09:35

Primark

ScrappyMalloy · 13/02/2016 09:36

Tesco -I got a lovely aquamarine-y coloured double duvet set there yesterday, for twelve pounds.

They had lots of nice ones, and their sheets are good value too (feel like an advert Grin )

bruffin · 13/02/2016 09:37

Going to say Primark, tesco
La Redoute also do good basic bedding and there is 25% off everything at the moment

MrsJayy · 13/02/2016 09:39

Dd has 2 double sets from poundstretchers they wash great

Lolimax · 13/02/2016 09:43

Dunelm Mill? The Range? Wilkinsons?

MigGril · 13/02/2016 09:47

Scrappy, Tesco, really twelve pounds, must go have a look ours are going thin. Really need some new sets but it always seems to be the bottom of the list of priorities.

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 13/02/2016 09:50

Primark had some lovely stuff when I looked, most of it is poly cotton, but some was 100% cotton

Lots of it coordinates too, so you could mix and match plain or patterned for a new look.

MrsJayy · 13/02/2016 09:54

Dd2s primark bedding is starting to go bobbily she hasnt had it long

NapoleonsNose · 13/02/2016 09:56

I came on to suggest Dunelm as well. I bought a lovely set there last month and it seems to be really good quality. Was too expensive - £20 for a double set.

Groovee · 13/02/2016 10:07

B&M do some good quality bedding.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 13/02/2016 10:13

I wouldnt recommend primark, the fitted sheets i had shrunk so they wouldnt go on the beds!!

Love the basic argos stuff though (especially the colour match range)

Sgtmajormummy · 13/02/2016 10:19

Wilko, but only the 100% cotton stuff. False economy to buy mixed fibres IMO.

TheFairyCaravan · 13/02/2016 10:25

I've got a couple of duvet covers from Asda that wash great. I find Primark fine too. DS1 is in the army, I got his bedding from Primark.

It's almost 2 years old now, always been washed on a 60 degree wash, hasn't got a bobble on it nor has it shrunk.

TheFairyCaravan · 13/02/2016 10:30

Very is good for plain duvet covers. I got DS2's uni bedding from there

MrsJayy · 13/02/2016 10:45

I wonder if primark gets their bedding as seconds because thats a few sheets ive binned and you have just been lucky thefairycaravan

Mrsmistletoe · 13/02/2016 10:46

The best bedding iv ever had has been from primark or Asda...Matalan is awful, I bought some from there and returned it straight away.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 13/02/2016 10:56

Oh yes, i forgot asda. Their bedding is brilliant

Sparklycat · 13/02/2016 11:01

The range

PotentialFootnerHorror · 13/02/2016 11:48

Will avoid primark if it doesn't wash well. I'm not expecting 20 years use for cheap but I do wash often as baby DD likes to be sick on our bed.

Will prob use argos or matalan as we have both local. Thanks for the recommendations.

Sucks having such a small budget for stuff like this but I think it'll really improve the room and show off our hard work.

I've never had any problems with Primark bedding but to be fair I haven't bought any that recently.

I've got Asda bedding which is lovely and soft, not bobbly at all, despite being washed and used a LOT over the past three years.
