Leaky washing machine

Help!

My six year old Whirlpool is leaking out of the panel at the front at the top. It's from the right hand side, next to the control panel.

I've emptied the filter at the bottom and the leak is continuing.

Any ideas?

A call out and a part will be nearly half the price of new one, it makes me sad it's becoming untenable to fix things.

Go LG direct drive.

I have an LG direct drive, which is 12 years old and we had an odd leak, which seems to trickle from top of machine. Husband (engineer) checked everything and, as a last resort, checked out on-line forums. Someone suggested that high water pressure pushed water from the soap drawer and over compartment and to leave the drawer out a little / not push it fully in. We did this and hey presto leak gone!

Google the fault with the model number. You tube usually has fix it clips.
