the horror, my stick blender has died!

I use it every day. Usually it laughs in the face of breadsticks (the best bread crumbs) but today it grunted and died.

Before I go out and replace it like for like (it's a kenwood), can anyone rave about theirs?

Also wondering if I should buy a conventional blender that I can make smoothies in, as it's the only way I'll ever get spinach in DS.

I have a Bosch 600w stick blender from sainsburys. Works like a dream!
