cooker getting rusty!

I have a gas cooker (stainless steel) and I just noticed it has tiny specks of rust on top! I must have been cleaning it wrong! Confused
Does anyone know how to get rid of them? I saw Amazon was selling rust remover gel but is that safe to use on a cooker? It seemed to be more for cars etc. Any advice anyone please?

Now I've read something about this and I think there was a thread on here about a new stainless steel sink going rusty. Do an advanced search and see if you can find it because there was some advice as to what to do to get rid of the rust.
