...I don't know where to put my fabric softener.

I'm 29. I've been married and owned my own home for 7 years; and have always held all laundry responsibility. And every time I just guess. Every. Time.

Too ashamed to ask DMIL. Pretty sure DM wouldn't have a clue

Big one is for main wash powder. Small one is for pre wash powder. Middle one is for fab cond.

FWIW, I never use fabric conditioner (hate it), so never use the middle bit in mine either.

What is pre wash powder?!

Do I put the softener in the blue bit?

If the blue bit is in the middle yes, generally the main wash detergent goes in the left hand side with the pre wash ( use normal stuff generally so it's like a boost) in the right hand side.

You don't need to use pre wash section unless you have something really filthy. I hardly ever use it and if I do I just chuck half a scoop of regular powder in there.

Ha! :D Well then, I must admit that I've been putting the washing powder and the fabric softener in the same tray for my whole life.

Nothing bad happened, though. Clothes are clean, soft and smell heavenly.
