Vi Spring mattress

Can anyone help me decide on a mattress? I have tried quite a few different ones in the last few months so have decided to go for Vi Spring.

I need one softish due to the ache I get in my shoulders/shoulderblades. But firm enough for my lower back as I get lower back pain sometimes too. And also not too firm or my hips hurt.

I am 5' 6" and almost 9 stone, so have been told I should go for soft. My mother has a Baronet medium which I find too firm and my father had a Baronet soft which is better but not too soft but may be okay. Furniture village do a Baronet Superb (replaced Baronet and not exactly the same) but none on display. I am not sure whether to order it in soft and hope for the best or go for a different one. I don't want to spend on the higher end.

I tried their Devonshire medium which seemed quite comfortable and softish at first but as I lay there longer it felt firmer and may be too firm for me. The assistant said someone lighter than me bought the soft and has to change to medium and that he would not want to sell the soft to anyone as it is too soft!

Confuse and very fussy about mattresses and aches and pains. Help please!

I'd read that Kirstie Allsopp says that they are the best mattresses.

They are lovely mattresses definitely. Had two of them. We have gone for firm mattresses both times and I would say that they seem softer than most "firm" mattresses so on that alone I would be concerned about buying a soft one. Especially in case it softened with age. Is there anywhere you could try a soft one to put your mind at rest?

Unfortunately I am having trouble finding the soft ones on display and am not sure what to do.

I am the same height weight as you and i have a soft which is very supportive.
We have a emperor sized zip link my DH has a medium firmness.
I purchased ours at andsotobed and they had lots to try. We have a sublime supreme, god they have daft names! It was the top of the range but i wanted to get the best bed possible and it is fantastic. We also looked at haastens which were in the similar price bracket circa £10,000.
I looked around for a while and they seemed to have the best selection. It appears that the more high end models are sold within the bed specialist shops .
john lewis sell a cheaper range of vi spring which are decent quality but different more intermediate models

My husband is an upholsterer & has worked on beds with them. They are really very good.

Go to a big John Lewis, if you can, OP. (I went to Bluewater). They had every permutation available to try & were totally happy for me & DH to lie on the beds for ages. They also had some available exclusively to John Lewis that were a bit cheaper. Had ours - zip link singles - for ten years now & still fine & so comfortable.

OP, as Magimedi says, John Lewis has a good range of Vi Spring beds and mattresses - they do a special range for JL but you can work out what is equivalent. The display mattresses come in different firmnesses so you should have no problem testing.
We have had Vi Spring beds throughout married life - currently got a super King zip and link.

We had the Superking Zip link, Tiara supreme, and now the newer version as our old one was 15 years old so we just changed the mattresses and kept the base. I have a firm and DH has a medium. Bliss and worth every single penny.

We bought our first one from here, cheesy name but the prices are very good and so is the service. The clearance section is always good too.

One thing to consider - and maybe someone has told you this - is that over time after you sleep on it the Vi Spring becomes far more comfortable than at first so impressions in the shop can be different from what it feels like over time.

We thought about buying soft but both went with medium and they did "settle" after about 3 months and become more comfortable with less pressure points.
