Which ironing board?

We need to get a new one (family of four). Am prepared to pay more for a good sturdy one that will last. We don't have a steam generator so would an on board plug socket still be useful or not? What features would be helpful? I always thought ironing board is as ironing board does - but apparently not according to Argos catalogue!

Anyone? Just looking for recommendations really. Vileda, Minky, Brabantia?

My only requirement for an ironing board is that it is high enough. I am 5'8" and most ironing boards make me bend over slightly.

I bought one from Tesco that is extra large and is tall enough for me. It is sooo much easier ironing standing straight.

Can anyone help re the on board plug socket feature - does anyone have an ironing board with one of these on? Could it still be helpful even if I don't have a steam generator?

I think brabantia always look sturdier.

I never used the on board plug feature. Essentially it's an extension lead cable tied to the board.

You could do that for a few quid down at wilkos.
