dehumidifier for a flat

I don't know much about dehumidifiers. Perhaps it's too "industrial" for a home? But I'm at a loss of what to do.

DH and I have a 2 bed middle floor flat. Only 15 years old so it's not an old building. There's no window in the kitchen or the bathroom. We cook, dry laundry and "live" but the air feels "moist

There's lots on condensation on the windows, windowsills just everywhere and all around the flat. I tried those pots of "absorbent" stuff which are supposed to help but which actually make sweet FA difference, I'm still literally mopping the Windows and windowsills weekly. And it also breeds mould which I bleach regularly because, you know. Ugh!!!

So, are dehumidifiers suitable for a 2 bed flat? If so, where are they ideally placed and can anyone make a recommendation please?

I have one in a 2 bed flat. We just got an Argos one and it is great. We are so found of it we have even named it.

You just put it on in the room and let it hum away. You can pop it in a different room each day if needed.

If it's just windows I have also heard good things about the squidgy sort of things that hoover water off the window (that is probably the worst description ever), but I've never tried one as our problem is more general damp.

What make is yours Jeepers? Are they expensive to run?

Hello. We live in a very humid climate (Asia) and almost everyone has one here. And most of us live in flats.

Apparently you're not meant to have them running whilst you are at home/ in the room.

Also, they generate quite a bit of heat ( which is why probably why we don't run them when home here as it's hot most of the year) so if you have a small room, put it in there with all your spun washing and the machine will extract all the moisture and dry the clothes with the heat it generates.

We haven't got one yet, but will once the weather turns hot and humid.
