I'm not sure if they are stainless steel, but you know the silver teapots you get (quite dated I think) - how can you remove tea stains from it if you have left tea bags in it? Similar to this pic

I would soak with soda crystals and boiling water for an hour or then wash out. Should be good as new.

Great I'll give it a try! Can I buy them from poundstretchers or somewhere similar ? Or will the supermarkets stock them?

Leave a couple of steradent denture tablet soaking in it over night.

Table Salt! Dab a damp cloth into some table salt and give it a good scrub. It'll come up a treat with no soaking.
