Please recommend a cyclinder vacuum cleaner

Can anyone please recommend a cylinder vacuum cleaner - needs to pick up pet hair, human hair (two of us have long hair) and other bits.

My Morphy Richards is the best I've ever had (even over Dyson) but suspect it won't last long as motor keeps cutting out/reducing power.

Miele Cat & Dog or Henry Xtra. Both come with 2 floortools - a turbo brush for picking up hair off carpet and a suction only tool for hard floors. Both have also been given Which? Best buys, with Henry getting the award for most reliable vacuum.

I also have a Morphy Richards for pets, best one I've ever had. We had a Dyson but it's power became reduced just inside the two year warranty. Dyson couldn't find anything wrong, it was never brilliant after that and lasted five years. Had an Electrolux which lasted just over two years. My MR has been going eight years and picks up everything.

We've got 2 vacs at home - an upright Sebo which was a hand me down, 23 years old and still works like new. The other is a Henry that lives in the garage for cleaning out the car and messy jobs like DIY mess. That's at least 12 years old, possibly more. We bought it when we were gutting our house to clean up the building mess. It's been absolutely battered but never gone wrong.

We bought a cylinder vac but it was hopeless as the filters just kept getting clogged up with my (very) long hair and the cat hair. It was a pain as we had to empty it to clean filters after every use. We gave up before Christmas and got a Henry Xtra which is great - it deals with hair without endless filters and though I miss seeing how much crap I've hoovered up I do enjoy (ehem) talking to Henry and occasionally have to tell him to stop being too keen. He did eat some of the Christmas tinsel.
