magic product that removes mud stain from curtains without washing

I'm in the middle of making some curtains. My dog, just back from a walk, put his muddy paw prints onto the lining side. Is there a product that I can apply to the stain that will magically remove it, rather than me having to dry clean them or risk them in the washing machine?

Can't you sponge it?

Let it dry and then brush it with a clean dry nail brush - it should come off hopefully ! If any left try vacuuming it with the attachment on - and finally try spongeing with a barely damp cloth or sponge.
