Recruiting a very part time house keeper/PA

Has anybody here recruited someone to work for them for a day a week or so as a housekeeper/PA? Have you placed adverts in the local press/gone via an agency?

Are there people who are willing to do a mixture of PA type jobs - sorting and filing paperwork and more house organisation type jobs - sorting clothes/kitchen stuff/cataloging books etc?

Anybody have an idea of a reasonable rate of pay to offer for this sort of thing?

I have a friend who does just that kind of work three days a week. No idea what she earns though.

"PA type jobs - sorting and filing paperwork"

You mean filing clerk rather than PA don't you? Better to be clear about what you want. As a secretary, I would definitely not want to do domestic help, but if I did I would rather not mix both types of work.

I've seen roles like this advertised in The Lady.
