Anyone use essential oils?

Just recently got some as my new washing machine has a refresh wash with some balls you drop essential oils onto. I'd quite like to make use of them in other ways but don't know where to start. Any tips?

Lovely counter top spray. Vinegar and oils - Google it.

Burn them in a simple oil burner.

I use oils with antiseptic and deodorising properties as a cleaner and air freshener.

1. Cleaning paste mixed with bicarbonate of soda, with or without lemon juice/vinegar
2. General cleaning spray: water, bicarb and oil, shake and spray as you would any bought surface cleaner.
3. Bin freshener: scatter bicarb in the bottom of the bin, add drops of oil

Some double up as bath oils, up to 10 drops in the bath.

I always have Clary Sage, Bergamot, Rosemary and Tea Tree in the house. The first 2 being my favourites as they smell nice and are antiseptic and relaxing (among other things) so they do both cleaning and relaxing

Thanks our wasn't sure which would be good for cleaning and which just smell nice. Currently use method cleaning stuff but quite like the idea of making my own and saving some pennies.

What 'flavour' are you using? You can probably get an oil in the same. If you google 'properties of...' you can see what they are supposed to be good for. I just look for antiseptic and a smell I like

I make candles, bath oils, bath bombs, shampoo/conditioner, bath foam, everyday pump soap for the loos.

I haven't done a cleaning product yet but that's only because I bought 3 years worth by accident in bloody Daylesford for £14 - and I'm still not at the end of it.

I just bought some linen flavour to get me started with the washing machine and was suprised how strong it was. The choice online got me thinking I could probably use some to replace the spray and floor cleaner I currently get from method.

Plus my ds is just about ready to crawl which has me rethinking my cleaning routine!

Please please please be careful with essential oils.
I DS2's face puffs up if he comes into contact with citrus essential oils :(

I use a mix of water, lavender and tea tree oils as a mild antiseptic surface spray which smells lovely.

I also use citronella, mint, lavender and geranium oils in a sweet almond oil and witch hazel base as a pretty great midgy repellant on skin.
