WhoKn0wsWhereTheMistletoes · 31/12/2015 18:22

So, here we are at the start of 2016, poised with our control journals and ready to Fly for another year. New and old, all are welcome here, we loosely follow the principles of Flylady to manage our homes and lives, we also chat and lend an ear to whatever life throws at us.

We post links to the Flylady site each day throughout the month, with daily babysteps and missions inside that weeks zone. We also declutter. No links in this post, I'm on my phone and will do some separately, but it's time to get ready for 2016. A big thank you to everyone who has run the thread in 2015 and everyone who has contributed Wine.

Forgot to say [pls forgive maternal boast] dd's dance teacher has been given her an understudy role for class above her for summer "spectacle", so she gets to learn their dance as well as her own group's dance. She is thrilled about this and it's so good to see her really happy atm!!!

Meant to say Toffee bit of blossom here too - it is really lovely isn't it?! Hope you get a proper rest this weekend.

Big waves to everyone else!

Okay, well not so much Flying here today, but I did hoover and mop the downstairs floors and hotspot the kitchen table in time for friends visiting, also spent a couple of hours at work, ferried DCs around all over the place and I have thrown myself into setting up meetings with various schools (current and possible future) regarding DD and her dyslexia. So quite a busy day all in all.

I'm sorry so many Fledglings and their families are under the weather, I am going to stock the naughty corner up with, cushions, hotwater bottles, Lemsip and whisky.

Fuzz - fingers crossed for DH and the possible new job.

Grey - that is very kind of you to offer to run the thread, I think there is a definite vacancy for Feb.

SC - sorry to hear you have to have surgery, I am a veteran of the gynae procedure (please feel free to pm if you'd like to chat). I hope the flat clearing is not too difficult, it sounds as though it is more than just a physical task though.

Toffee - yes, I have had one of those bosses too, she was also very good at stabbing you in the back, not nice but at least your colleagues are all in the same boat with you, that's what kept me going in that situation (and although it's 5+ years since we all got made redundant I have stayed very close to a couple of them, we were definitely drawn together in adversity).

Because that would makes sense. and it used to be but she has kinda mess about with the order again

WhoKn0wsWhereTheMistletoes · 30/01/2016 21:46

Ta-da!

Tidied up DD's bedroom and sorted out a big box of clutter that has been sitting in our bedroom for several months Blush

Meal planned and shopped, I have kept this up all month and it is making such a difference, I must not lapse again. Also piled through a load of homework with the DCs because we're going out tomorrow.

Back with links for tomorrow in a minute.

Today has been one of those frustrating days, where one job turns into a massive endeavour. DS2's wardrobe doors (wardrobe left by the previous owners) weren't sliding properly, and DH sorting it out involved emptying the entire thing, realising that whoever put it together had completely bodged it, trying to fix it, deciding it was past fixing, disassembling the entire thing and getting it downstairs, cleaning up all the resultant dust and bits of chipboard, bringing all DS2's stuff back in, trying to make the best of his remaining furniture, and having a chat with him about redecorating his whole bedroom!! Fortunately, it was DH doing most of the heavy stuff, but it scuppered a lot of other plans for the day! Hmm

Did also manage to extract a few outgrown clothes and toys in the process, which is something. And to dispose of a few dead houseplants. Oops.

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare Blue

Sunday.

No missions, the final babystep for the month is something weird about changingyour profile on Flylady.net - I would avoid handing over your email address TBH.

Sundays are our day for Renewing our Spirit

And on Monday we start all over again Smile. And I can get rid of this
seasonal name which is starting to grate on me now Grin

How did I not know about 2 at a time on circular needles knitting?!

fuzzpig · 31/01/2016 10:35

Happy Sunday Fledglings!

DH has taken the DCs out for the day so I can rest - although what I really need to do is crack on with the editing. Have got rather behind Blush

So who is doing February and March? I'm happy to do February since in March we're away so I definitely can't do that one.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheMistletoes · 31/01/2016 11:52

Grey offered to do Feb or March, how about you do Feb Fuzz and Grey can do March?

OP posts:
fuzzpig · 31/01/2016 12:21

Fine with me :) I'll start the thread later - have just done an hour's editing so just going to chill for a bit watching King of the Hill while I wait for Tesco :o. Stupidly I deleted my file from when I did November, what a numpty Blush :o won't take me long to redo it though.

Got a wash on as well, hope to do two lots and dry it so it (and the last lot Blush can all be put away, and I also want to finish the massive book about Asperger's that I've been reading for months. I've got my follow up appt with the specialist who diagnosed me tomorrow :) I'm really looking forward to it. Unfortunately I can't go to the support group I've been offered a place on, as it's too far for me to travel, means late nights etc which I'm really not well enough for right now, but I'm actually really happy and content with my diagnosis so I don't feel like I really need this IYSWIM. If they set one up closer, I'll go to that. :)

Also must order DD's birthday present while it's still on offer. Will be ordering a storage box for all our wrapping paper too since delivery will be free :o

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 31/01/2016 14:38

Ah, that's better, I have been getting irritated with having a Christmas name all through January.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 31/01/2016 19:30

Right, I'm quite glad January is nearly over.

2xDC birthdays - check
Busy spell at work - check
Tax return - check
Statement annual Review - check
Dyslexia assessment - check
OU assignment - check (got 89%) Grin
Busy spell at work - check

And being thread leader has been great as it has forced me to at least glance at the links every day and have definitely made inroads into the clutter / detailed cleaning. Must keep up the momentum!

fuzzpig · 31/01/2016 20:28

Oohhh crap I totally forgot to do the thread! Oops Blush sorry!

Well done who for your assignment!
