Wheelie bins - how long does it take you to fill yours?

I'm a bit puzzled by this actually. Because of where we live (down a tiny lane) we have to take our wheelie bin down to the end of the road for emptying. Because we are lazy we tend to only put it out when it's full and not before. We regularly go three weeks without putting the bin out! It's just a normal sized bin.

But I don't understand how we create so little rubbish compared to other people - quite often on bin-day we see bins with their lids bulging (the same ones every week).

Do you fill yours every week? And what takes up most of the space?

Our bin is usually about 1/2 full on collection day. Our recycling doesn't take cardboard or plastic but we have a fab recycling centre down the road that takes just about anything.

where we are we have to recylce

our rubbish is collected every other week.... recycling collecetd every oterh week so one week out goes rubbish, next week out gos recycle bin etc

we are not allowed more than one bin of rubbish in the fortnight... if the lid doesnt close fully they wont empty it full stop..

obviousluy no extra bin bags can be put out either

everyone round here seems to manage on 1 bin ful per 2 weeks

where i work the family is 2 adults and 2 kids + me the nanny is tehre 4 days... mum works 4 days and daddy 2 days so its quite a hosueful most of the time

we have 1 in nappies fulltime and 1 in night nappies. we manage...

we compost everything compostable, recycle everything we can.... and we still have a bit of room in the wheely bin at the end of 2 weeks

it can be done if you are not lazy about what you through away...

we can have as much extra recycling as necessary though

Our normal rubbish bin and recycling bin get emptied on alternate weeks.

We only put them out when they are full, so regularly take 4 weeks to fill normal and recycling bins.

I put out our black wheelie bin (household waste) every week, although i have been wondering why i do as it seems to have only one or two carrier size bags in.

green bin empted every 2 weeks full every time.

I wouldn't fill mine every 2 weeks if I didn't childmind - the nappies must be at least half of my waste - if not more (I have 9 in napies most days)

So without them I'd hardly have any rubbish at all

We get rubbish collected every Tuesday. My bin is usually only 1/4 full, but I still put it out coz I don't want it to start stinking.

The recycle bin is once a fortnight. That gets half full in that time. It includes... plastic, tins and glass.

Paper they don't collect, so I drop that at the skip in tesco carpark as and when i remember.

We are two adults and one teenager.

I've seen my neighbours climbing a stepladder to stand inside their wheely bin and stamp it all down!
