Can I save these leather gloves from the bin?

My DS used his Dad's leather gloves while hiking over the weekend. They got wet and mucky.

I only discovered them yesterday. They now look like mummified hands! Should I bin them now and buy him a new pair for Christmas or is there any way of cleaning and rejuvenating them?

Thanks in advance Smile

It might take a bit of work/time, but yes, you should be able to:

Brush off as much much as possible then, get hold of some sports dubbin
(Punch do a version, cobblers will often have some if your supermarket doesn't), slather the gloves in them, put your hands in and keep rubbing the gloves together (same way as if washing hands thoroughly) until it's absorbed.

Should soften the gloves up and then you can clean the mud off properly and re-do the dubbin to protect for the next time.
