Frdige freezes my carrots!

Grrr, I've cleaned it, cleaned out the hole at the back, defrosted it......have tried it on lowest setting right up to highest setting, but still my veg are freezing solid in the fridge. They're in the veg compartment at the bottom, not on a shelf and definitely not touching the back of the fridge. Any thoughts? How do I stop the fridge from freezing them? (Doesn't freeze anything else!)

This might seem a daft question, but are they actually frozen or extremely cold? I find root veg from the fridge seems colder then anything else, possibly because they are quite dense in texture.

They don't need to be in the fridge though, so put them in a basket in a cool place instead?

The leeks were frozen solid, broccoli and carrots the same. Have always kept them in fridge so they last longer. Don't understand why they're freezing.

Stick a bowl of water in the bottom of the fridge and see if it freezes.

Or stick a thermometer in the drawer, if you have one.

Jareth the water at the bottom if the fridge freezes solid. (Under the white veg compartment). Am frequently having to thaw it out.

My fridge does the same. If I cut through carrots, there are dull on ice crystals inside; anything that touches the walls or floor freezes solid. It is about a million years old though, so I'm using the excuse for a shiny new one in the new year. For now I have a meat drawer, a dairy drawer, and I put the veg in a big Tupperware tub on a shelf.

Sounds like it's knackered, sorry..
