How do I get it out? Have seen milton recommended but won't that bleach the colour? Have also seen Dettol recommended but not sure if it is the orange disenfectant, the disenfectant aerosol, the multi purpose liquid that you dilute or the multi purpose spray?

Did it just happen? Put some towels down, turn the mattress over on top of them and walk on it to squeeze the wee put.

Have done that but now trying to get the stain and smell out.

Google using bio washing liquid to remove urine whiffs. The enzymes do summat apparently!

I used to use fabric spray if they missed the plastic sheet. Wasn't perfect though took away the smell but not the stain.

One of the best ways to remove urine on a mattress is to actually sprinkle bread sida on the mattress and rub it in. Open the window in the room, allow the mattress to dry out. Then later in the day. Hover the bread soda off the mattress. It actually soaks up the urine and helps remove the odour. After this you scrub the mattress with hot soapy water. Dab with a towel and allow to dry.

Sorry, bread soda.

backonthewagon · 20/11/2015 23:30

What is bread soda?

Spray vinegar on your mattress and let it soak for 15 mins or so. Then sprinkle with bicarbonate of soda (generous covering). Leave for several hours (at least 2). The vinegar neutralises the urine smell and the bicarb absorbs the vinegar. My son has only recently stopped night wetting and this has really helped the mattress.

Oh I missed the important bit about hoovering up the bicarb!
