How to keep wardrobe smelling fresh?

I think there is a faint whiff from my wardrobe, very faint, of what I could only describe as 'charity shop'. The clothes are only ever hung in the wardrobe when they are clean, and individual items of clothing don't smell. It's not packed particularly tightly and it's not built in, so no damp walls or anything. And it's a modern laminate type wardrobe so it's not the smell of wood.

Any ideas?

Wipe down the insides from time to time and open the doors occasionally to air it out perhaps?

I find that leaving the wardrobe doors open and the window open for a couple of hours helps to get rid of the musty smell.
