Best hoover for uneven flagstones?

Have a henry but metal bits bash and crack on the head even with the brush bit down(technical). It should probably get swept but would rather be able to hoover as we have a stove and you need a hoover for the very fine ash when emptying.

Miele make a nozzle called the "parquet twister". It's ultra soft and adjusts to uneven floors. I don't think it will fit Henry though.

This might seem like a daft question, but are you using the Henry nozzle on the hard floor setting? It has a pedal on the top that releases a set of brushes to use on hard floors. The brushes should be down for hard floors and retracted for carpet.

Edit: just seen your comment about the brushes being down. Ignore that :)
