Wooden worktops with a gas hob

Am I bananas to put a gas hob on a wood worktop? Please help!

I suspect you might have some future cleaning problems if you did. Wood tends to be quite absorbent of eg grease and stains unless you can give it a decent scrub - which wouldn't be so easy if there was a hob in the middle of it.

Baking soda and vinegar solution will help you to get out stains from wood at some point.

We have that combination. No problems with it. You do need to keep your worktop in good condition though - regular oiling.

Ours seems OK - regular wiping up!
