Getting paint out of clothes

My DS has grey paint all along the front of his predominantly white t-shirt. Not the odd splash but a thick stripe along the hem. It's not the end of the world, as I don't put him in his Sunday best for nursery but it would be nice to get as much of it out as poss. I tried a normal wash but only a little has gone.
Any tips? Thanks

Poster paint more likely at nursery age surely.

Soaking it may help.

I've got the same problem. Vanish oxy action didn't work. I YouTubed it and suggestions are rubbing alcohol, hairspray and nail polish remover.

My dd got black acrylic children's paint on a brand new white top. Going to try hairspray tomorrow.

Yes, nursery play paint and well dried in, I'm afraid.

Hairspray? Bizzare! Do report back on how you get on with that before I buy some.

The hairspray removed quite a lot of it but all the scrubbing caused a small home in the top.

That'll teach me to put new clothes on her for creche!

Vanish soap bar works every time. Scrub at it then shove it in the machine.

For future reference, I find with any stain, leaving it to soak in cold water first, helps massively.
I have a theory that the hot water in the machine "cooks" some stains (particularly blood). No idea whatsoever if there is any basis to this, but it's worked for me over the last couple of decades of very messy dc.

You're right, hot water sets stains!
