Just got into bed with nice new white sheets on only to notice lots of little specks of black. Sheets were washed, dried, ironed then airing cupboard.
It's the washing machine isn't it.
How do I do a maintenance wash then chaps?

very hot wash and/or use dr beckmanns washer stuff

it may not be the washer it could be bugs in the airing cupboard :p

if they are specks of black grease or there are any metal fragments, it will be the drum bearings in your washer breaking up.

Unless the washer is very valuable, it may not be economic to repair.

Don't wash any more naice whites until you know for sure, as they may not come out.

You may feel or hear grinding if you turn the drum by hand.

Thank you Piglet. Interestingly, I have only noticed this on white bedclothes and not on other white stuff.
I'll have a look at the drum when it's not busy washing. Looking closely at it, the rubber seal is a world of black nasty too.
