Any Aldi fans out there?

After seeing the Lidl thread, I thought I would start one for Aldi fans.

I love Aldi, DH loves Aldi, PIL love Aldi and so does my DM!

I've notice that in the last year it is more busy and it is interesting to see people with Jags, BMWs and Mercedes shopping there too. Why waste money when there is no need to?

My latest bargain from Aldi was a linen skirt that was reduced from £5.99 to 99p. I recently bought my DTS winter coats which they will wear next winter and they were £4.99 each. Excellent quality and very warm.

Any other Aldi fans out there?

Aldi is great love it, their drink is really good and the specials are great. I know loads of people who are fairly loaded who shop there, maybe that's why they have loads of cash as they don't waste it???

You been to Waitrose again, cod?

I love Aldi's non food stuff (can't do online grocery shopping with them so I don't tend to buy food there - though they do lovely Danish pastries and brioche and dh says their sandwiches are fab). Our last two computers came from Aldi. Got lots of camping equipment there last summer too and they are great for outdoor clothing - got the boys lined, waterproof trousers there this year for about £5.99. My bad weather coat is from there too - Scotchguarded, Teflon, etc. and a fraction of what it would have cost at Millets. Have also bought toys there and things like storage boxes etc. We have a stereo from there too...and dh buys lots of their computer gizmos.

I am signed up for the weekly email so I know what's coming in each week.

The sausages in Aldi are really great! And they do a very decent cheapie red Australian wine called Bushmans. Very drinkable, and there's a marginally more expensive Bushman's reserve which is great

the biscuits and cereals are just the same as the name brand stuff or nicer but half the price, fabulous. and their prfessional shampoos are quite good. and dp loves their pizzas. also their version of homefries and their fresh lasagne. oh and dried pasta is dirt cheap as are tined tomatoes and puree for spag bol.

i could go on all day

I love it, love it, love it!
Was in there yesterday afternoon, bought myself (v sad I know) a dozen red roses (glittery tipped to boot) for £1.29! And they don't look like the droopy sort either. Thinks, they may even make ex-DH curious when he pops in to see kids next time that I may have an admirer Oops, look at that pig flying past...

Dales Ginger wine from Aldi costs £2.29, Stones Ginger wine costs £5.80 from mainstream supermarkets/off-licenses. Guess where I buy my ginger wine?.

At the moment they are selling these chocolate sticks in an upright box which has octagon shapes at each end. They are heavenly.

Their Siana range of moisturiser are really good too. I use to buy a Nivea moisturiser for £5.60. I now buy the Siana equivalent for £0.79.
