Morning all.

Nice mission today if you did it last month and kept it clean

I've been busy this morning and have cleaned all the cupboard doors, and stainless steel accessories in the kitchen.

Last night I colour coded all of the clothes in my wardrobe! and started sorting out the cereal cupboard ??? I swore I wouldnt do the weird nesting stuff this time (did a few days before I had DD so fingers crossed)

Hope you're all ok.

Hi Satinshoes-you are not alone!
After managing to take ds and dd to school without them killing each other I've emptied and loaded dw, stripped beds, swished bathroom, loaded ws and now sitting down with builder's tea, Jo Whiley and MN.
Going into ds's school to sample school dinner later followed by accompanying ds's class to carol concert- how rock and roll is that!
Will tackle hob later.

ludaloo · 04/12/2006 10:20

Morning ladies!!

Satinshoes...that is definately weird nesting behaviour! Its great!!!!! I'm getting excited!!

Dom....have a good lunch!!!! (lets hope its not something grim!)

I have to rush around now and do beds etc, I need to hoover and need to do the mission.
I want to move dd2 cot aswell, it has just occured to me she might be getting too hot, as she is near the radiator, it didn't matter over the summer but now the fire is on I think she needs moving.
Dh announced he needs me to do a few errands for him
Why does he always announce these things just as he is leaving to go to work...then I have to rearrange the day I had planned!!!!!
I sware I'm just put on this planet to keep him happy!!!...and the kids...of course.

Well such is life!!!!!!!

see you in a bit xx

I have been forced to get the crap out from under my bed in order to move the cot to the other side of the room, and move my drawers from the other side of the bed. My god! The dust and crap under there!!!!

Tsk tsk....remind me not to shurk the FLY lady next time she says "clean thoroughly under beds"!!

It is such a big job now...I've stripped the bed and cot, and Bicarbed both mattresses...have to go pick ds up from nursery in a mo then go on errands...then hopefully won't be back too late to sort it all back out again!!!!

The bottom of my stairs now looks like a jumble sale stall at the end of a busy afternoon!!! Sheets, clothes, cot duvets!!!!

[time of the month hormonal]

ludaloo · 04/12/2006 11:09

I'm not doing mine.
My new cooker will be delivered next week

Not been keeping up at all, sorry.
I'll start again tomorrow.

ludaloo · 04/12/2006 14:10

well I'm back from joeying around after dh! Its a right royal pain in the butt as the car I have is very petrol thirsty...I don't like to use it really, and I can only get two of my three kids in it because it has airbags and only two seats with three point belts. (dd1 is actually at school...but I thought I'd just moan about it anyway!!)

Got to go and finish the beds, and do some more washing.
I'm going to a friends after school so I'll have to get it done before I go.

Domesticslobess.....The bicarb is just to freshen the matress, you sprinkle it all over..leave it about an hour or so, then vaccum it off. It absorbs all the musty odours. Not sure if it is a FLY site tip...more a MN tip!

Right, going to go and beat a few pillows

see you in a bit xx

shouldbedeckingthehalls · 04/12/2006 14:20

Hello!

satinshoes- exciting to be nesting- I didn't really do any when I was expecting my dd but when I with ds I nested like mad for a few days before he arrived - when's your baby due?

I'm afraid I won't be doing any housework today (I did put some towels in the wm earlier but that's as far as I'll get). Mondays are very busy for us with toddler group, supermarket shopping, errands for dh while I'm in town, a quick late lunch (now- ds is asleep in car still though) and then an afterschool activity for dd! I'm also supposed to be helping a friend out this evening but may see if she can wait till tomorrow.... It's good on the one hand to have the worst of the rushing around on one day but I'm always exhausted by the supper-time! The breakfast stuff is still on the worktop and will have to stay there until we get home again at 5....sigh....

satinshoes · 04/12/2006 15:44

hi guys,

sbdth - i'm due on 13th december

done nothing this pm. collected dd from pre-school, had lunch and then we both slept until now

domesticslobess · 04/12/2006 16:35

Thanks ludaloo-will try bicarb.Wish I had shares in bicarbonate of soda as all household gurus seem to be recommending it recently.
Just returned from ds's carol concert and feeling very Christmassy in desperate need of mince pie but will have to make do with stale Rich Tea instead.

ParanoidAndroid · 04/12/2006 16:44

Hello girls - I've had a busy old day today. I collected all the stuff for the tombola on Friday before going away and have spent the day wading through the dining room and sticking tickets to anything in sight. Don't be surprised if you come to our school fair on Thursday and find two dogs, two children, a few dining chairs etc all in the tombola.....

Cleaned hob this morning without realising that it was today's mission. Just how 'in synch' I am with Flylady is a mystery frankly.

Still in post-weekend blur so will do more housework tomorrow.

IvortheEngine · 04/12/2006 16:53

Hello all. I've been in work today so not much FLYing apart from the hour or so this morning before I left for work.

luda I hope you didn't have to go into town first thing. They'd closed off a big part of the prom due to stones left on the road by the sea and so there was nowhere to park. I got into work about an hour after leaving home!

Off to make tea now. Back much later once the kids are in bed.

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 04/12/2006 17:21

Hello all.(Ooooh I love the festive ones!)
Busy day today and absolutly no FLYing! Went to town for benifits review. Then bought a few xmas presents. Still some to get but at least i have a couple sorted.
DD2 fell over this morning trying to run away from me. Tripped and went down face first on a gravelly path. Ripped her lip open nicely. Blod pouring out! It looks ok now.Must be very sore.

Satin I hope all the nesting means a new fly Baby soon!

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 04/12/2006 17:30

Hi everyone.

I have been doing this weeks room without knowing it kitchen. Just thought I would give it a good clean before Xmas. I cleaned to cooker, it was looking great until I cooked the spuds tonight and they boiled over.

Everyone has been busy today. If not FLYing then its other bits. I suppose I`m lucky in not having a DH/DP, least I don't have to run around for them Though you don't have to have a DH/DP to mess up the days plans.

satinshoes I did not nest with my 2 DSs but I did with DD. For a week before she was born, I cleaned the house from top to bottom. Xp2 did put his foot down to me clean the loft though. He put 2 locks on the hatch so I could not go up there when he was at work.

We got soaked coming home from school. So the Dc had a bath and dressed into warm dry clothes.

Dinner soon (chicken cottage pie and mixed veg) so better go now before it gets burnt.

TTFN for now. Love the new smileys just got to get used to putting the f in now

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 04/12/2006 17:35

Hi tortoise. glad you got some bits sorted. I am going out with HNtree tomorrow if the weather is not to bad.

Poor DD2 {{{{{ Tort`s DD2 }}}}}} Tell her HN has sore lips too, mine are b/c I have been pulling the skin of them though

The smileys are cool!!

ParanoidAndroid · 04/12/2006 17:42

HN - did you get the white trousers sorted? It's just the type of thing that becomes the biggest PIA just before Christmas, doesn't it?!! All of us tired, stressed parents, running around like crazy, buying raffle tickets, supplying tombola items, organising Christmas presents etc etc etc.... and then we get 24 or 48 hrs notice that we have to supply some bizarre bit of clothing for the school play!!! I got in such a tizz about it this year, I nearly pulled DD out of the play (what a horrible mummy I very nearly was!!!)

Tort - poor DD2. I hate it when they hurt themselves. DS had a massive cut on his face where he fell from the top of a slide and bit through (gross emoticon) his lower lip. After lots of treatment, he now has a thin scar which he says he got from fighting pirates.... He's 10 and still enjoys telling this. So all the best children bear wounds of some sort or other!!

HazelnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 04/12/2006 19:50

ParanoidAndroid Yes we got it sorted this afternoon. 9 out of us 10 mums said we did not have white jeans. DS1 did get it a little bit wrong, but he was not the only 1. They were told they needed these jeans a week Monday and not today. 3 other mums got told the same, but I do wonder if there were more mums.(they just did not want to own up that their DC got it wrong) The teacher said that she told them "a week Monday" But I can see how 6/7years olds would not really know what that means. they just hear "Monday" Don't they?. I still say they should send or get the Dc to write a note home saying what they need. It does not take much effort to get them to write down a little note and it would save the message changing by the time it gets home.

Well the teacher has now settled for blue jeans and not white, though she did really want white 1s. She has got others having brown jeans and green tops. We can only think that these Dc will be trees.

Its the normal Xmas nativity play but with a difference. That all we are aloud to know. It seems to be a lot of work going into this play, yet it will only last 20 minutes at most to 2 showing. TBH I think she is asking to much from littuns really and like you said, this on top of what us mums (dads too) have to also do for Xmas.

Dc are now in bed, even DS1 was in bed early tonight as he was really tired. Kitchen is cleaned up from dinner, DW doing its bit, and the cooker hob bit is clean again.

Now to crash out with TV and MN

IvortheEngine · 04/12/2006 22:08

I can second the frurstrations at needing to get obsure things pdq for school. Im agine all teh Christmas plays I've seen, though. They've all been in Welsh, and not traditional so we've had cartoon characters in there as well as Joseph and Mary. ONe time we had Sali Mali!

Sorry for rubbish typiug. Dog on lap once mroe. She has been wtatching a Welsh countryisde orogramme. It's now finished nad ghe ads are on. HOW LONG whoo[s befoere she notices, do you thin? Oh, think she's noiced. Sh e has gone all heavy and her head is eestin g on my left hand! now football id onand she likes that.

Right I can almost type again. She's leaning her head on the breakfast bar thing. When we redo the kitchen, I will be delighted to see the back of such an useless, stupid thing. It's at the wrong height and is too narrow for anything except teh accumulation of stuff!

Off now, see you tomorrow!
