How do you clean microfibre cloths?

That's it really, how do you wash e-cloths? I'm sure I've heard before that you should wash them separately, so that bits of fluff from other things don't clog up the tiny fibres and reduce their effectiveness. But that seems hugely wasteful, putting a separate wash on for a few cloths. Do you just bung them in on a normal load?

They go in with towels or bedding on a 60c wash. I never use softener anyway.

Or you could pop them in when you do a maintenance wash- give them a quick wash first to get the gunk out then send them round with soda crystals.
