american style fridge / freezer

Hi,

Looking for brand recommendations and where to buy.

Any ideas welcome.

We went to Currys just to get a feel for the quality of each make etc, and it helped us visualise the space as we had a bog standard fridge freezer with a back up larder freezer. We checked out double doored fridge freezers, ones with the massive freezer drawers etc before settling on an American fridge freezer.

In the end we bought a Whirlpool one because Dh insisted on plumbed in water dispenser and ice maker. I was sceptical but 2 years on we have never drank so much water and the children love it too.

We bought it from AO (appliances online) we have bought from them for years now. Their reviews and videos are helpful.

We have had an lg one for just over 10 years. It works well and has never developed a problem. However when the time comes I will not replace it with another American style one. It seemed like a good idea but was not well thought through. The fridge is fine but the freezer is not that bid and oddly shaped. For example pizzas will not fit in. My next one will be a tall larder fridge and a chest freezer (in the garage)
