My car STINKS

Honestly it's awful. It reeks of vomit and that stinky glue we used to use at primary school-copydex-I think it was called.
I have checked for any festering food debris.
What can I do to get rid of the stench? I have tried febreeze but would rather not just mask the smell. Tia

Have you lifted the seat cushions and moved the front seat back and forth to see what it could be? Sorry if I'm stated the bleeding obvious. Is there a leak anywhere? Have you sniffed the seats, taken the mats out and checked them? I'm thinking it sounds as though something has been split and dried without being cleaned up. Possibly milk or something other dairy food.

When you find where it is, then try Simple Solution pet odour and stain remover. You sprinkle it on (liquid) and as it dries it get rid of the smell. You can buy it from pet shops.

I think you need to search further for something rotting - a potato perhaps which has rolled under a seat

Do you think chucking some bi carb on the seats will help? The car is generally pretty grotty but over the weekend it's defo got worseSad The DC are no longer milk in bottle aged but they are still mucky little things so they have probably shoved something somewhere.

It could be something from a shopping trip that's fallen out of a bag. You're going to have to find out where the smell is emanating from in order to effectively treat and get rid of it. Have you taken the car seats out to have a thorough look? In fact, is it a car seat that smells?

There's no point chucking anything anywhere until you've pinned down where the smell is actually coming from. If you put bicarb on the seats and it's the boot that stinks it's just a waste.

OMG! I found it...a plastic pint bottle of milk that "I lost" over two weeks ago. I'm am so disgusting Shock Don't think its leaked anywhere as the foil top was still sealed but blurgh...

Hurrah! Leave the doors and boot ajar for a while if you can to air the car out. Who'd have thought vomit+copydex = milk! That was a good guess by me. Glad you found it - where in the car was it?

It was under the drivers seat! I had put my hand under to collect other bits but this was in a little recessed it. I have scrubbed the footwell just in case and will put some other stuff down as it was still lingering when I last checked.
