Cooking oil on rug

i have also posted on chat.

Olive oil has seeped into a much loved rug. What can I do to remove it? Rug natural dyes and fibres, quite fragile, I wouldn't trust my ordinary cleaners. I've got kitchen roll on it atm, and I suppose I was thinking if ironing it as you would do with a shirt.

Anyone know? Any specialist rug cleaners?

Going to try washing up liquid, or possibly dilute white vinegar..

try talcum powder. It will draw out the oil and then with a couple of shakes will come off the rug. Works really well.
