American fridge freezer, fridge not cold!

Please can someone tell me how to fix this problem? I've Googled but to no avail, and this is my last ditch attempt without shelling out $$$ that I can ill afford on another one.
We recently moved house but it's not cooled down properly since (and I suspect it wasn't at optimum temp before either, but not as warm as this)
It's a Whirlpool, out of warranty obv, and I've put a fridge thermometer in and it's 11 degrees at the top and 9 at the bottom.

After moving a fridge you are supposed to let it settle for a few hours before turning it on, so if you didn't that might be why? No advice but it may help to resolve if you know the cause

It was left for 24 hours for the gas to settle before being turned on again I'm going to have to buy a new one aren't I

does it have a temperature control knob, or buttons?

On mine, "max" means colder and "min" means warmer.

I complained to the makers, who said it is a coldness scale, so it means "maximum coldness" not "maximum temp"
