Can you use Napisan in a colour wash?

I don't have kids but have bought Napisan to use when washing sheets/towels etc. after many, many recommendations on here. But it's still not clear to me if it's ok to use it when washing coloured items? The box says to not use for "non-colourfast" items... Most of my bedding and towels are colours rather than whites.

As far as I can see, there are no bleaching agents in Napisan so should be ok?

Why would you use Napisan if you aren't washing nappies?

I used to use Napisan occasionally when I used cloth nappies. I had lots of brightly coloured ones and never noticed any fading or patchiness after using it in the wash. So I'd (tentatively) say it should be fine.

I use Napisan as a boost for whites, but have never used it in a wash for colours. I'd think it would suck out the colour.
Bertrand - it isn't compulsory to be only used for nappies. It is a good whitener

Napisan definitely bleaches colours if you use it to soak (I've done it. Top was stained beyond hope so I accepted the massive colour fad).

I don't know about in the wash. I've not noticed it particularly on nappy covers, which are coloured.

I wouldn't risk it on anything you are devoted to, but I'd probably give it a go on something like coloured towels if you could live with fade - e.g if they are green, rather than burgundy.

I use napisan all the time and don't use cloth nappies. It's fine on coloured stuff. Don't know I'd use it on my bed linen unless an "accident" had occurred.

Bertrand because it's basically a better and cheaper version of Vanish and the like (or so I have read, anyway) and makes the washing powder more effective in general. I wouldn't soak, just add it to the machine with the washing powder.

Will try on towels as Libraries suggests.

Yes Betrand. Anything white with stains can be soaked in a strong solution. It comes out of the solution alarmingly blue tinged sometimes, but that washes out. I do a couple of rinses too as it makes a lot of bubbles.
