Ok OK, I know its technically a used item now, but I've had it less than 24 hours and its useless so want to return it.

It's an under the pillow vibrating alarm clock. It was for my deaf daughter. We tried it out while we were all awake, and she said then that it wouldn't wake her, and it didn't. I peeled the clear plastic off the clock face as it was printed with the time and date etc for demonstration purposes. It wasn't sticky, so thought that it would just stick back on again, but its just not playing.

Does anyone know how I can get it back on again so I can send it back???!!!

Try wiping a wet cloth over clock face then see if plastic sticks

summerwinterton · 23/09/2015 16:42

well if it doesn't do the job it is meant to do you could still get a refund anyway?

gallicgirl · 23/09/2015 16:44

To be honest, if it doesn't wake her and it's marketed as a clock for the hearing impaired, then get a refund under the Sale of Goods Act as not fit for purpose.

I wouldn't worry about the plastic bit because it just doesn't do the job it's supposed to.

No that hasn't worked, Alison.

I don't know if I can send it back legitimately, off to look, thanks summer

Thanks so much. It was from Amazon and I will be sending it back tomorrow, under ' inadequate' or something like that. The service was quite amazing, they gave me an immediate refund on condition that they receive it back within 30 days or they charge me again.

Thank you. I just wouldn't have thought I could send it back under those circumstances. Very happy bunny tonight.

I love mumsnetGrin

Amazon have always been very good to me about refunds. If it gets really messy you do have to find their well hidden phone number, but then they are great.

you can RING Amazon? really! can you pm me it if you don't want to share? for future use possibly. thanks!

You can return it even if you have taken the plastic off. Look up Distance Selling, there is a law about this.

If I want to contact Amazon I always use their 'live chat' option
They are always really quick to respond and I have always been satisfied that everything has been dealt with quickly
