smelly loo

Our loo smells like its blocked,it has been smelling for 24hrs, I don't want to call a plumber if I can help it, will it go away, I have been putting bleach around the rim.
I think it might be possibly blocked by tampons, I only put 5 or so down.
Hence am a bit embarrassed to get a plumber
Any ideas.

If it's blocked then it won't shift by itself.

Have you tried having a root around with a bit of bent coathanger or something, to see if you can dislodge anything? If you can't reach, or if the blockage is to big to shift, then you need a plumber, I would think.

Caustic soda - works a treat!

WWB, i don't know if it is bocked because we are still able to flush as normal, the smell is just awful.
I might try the caustic soda jalopy, thank you

QOP, it's worth a try. The caustic soda disintergrates everything in it's path. Go carefully with it though.

Any luck?
