Mouldy outdoor cushions covers

Help! Discovered that the waterproof cover over our lovely new rattan set isn't actually waterproof and half of the cushions are covered in horribly mouldy type stuff. I've washed them normally, washed them with some random stain treatment I found in the cupboard, now I've just soaked them in water and a bit of bleach for half and hour. Nothing is happening, any ideas please? They are made of polyester.

I've never had any success getting mould like that out of fabric - sorry. It would be worth looking now for replacements as there are end of season sales on.

I strongly suspect your cushions have gone mouldy not because the cover isn't waterproof but because the cover has trapped moisture from the air against the cushions, unless they were sodden from water damage.

I would store the cushions inside or in a sealed Keter type storage bin and not on the actual furniture.
