hi, struggling to find any decent modern type of pictures to go on newly renovated flat plain walls-I'm not inspired by John Lewis and all the other big names, house of fraser, argos, Debenhams etc all seem to sell graham and brown which are nice but a bit bland-the next step up from places like boconcept, houseology ebsites are sooo much more expensive and not much more inspiring-any suggestions please!

Paint over any old paintings you do not like -or buy a canvas and frame it- try painting your own. Decide what color you want for the background , + other colors that would complement or contrast. Get cheap small tubes of acrylic paint at the dollar store and cheap brushes of various sizes. Paint the over all background first then decide what other colors are going on top. Go ahead , make your first abstract or geometrical shape in the color you chose where ever you choose to put it. Take a look and decide where to place the next shape in what ever color. I like to use lines going in different directions but dots and squares and circles etc are all fun . After each addition pause and consider . Maybe hang it and consider it some more - you can paint over or add whatever you like. IT"S FUN! and cheap!
