How much clothes storage do you have?

I am about to get new bedroom furniture but not sure how much is needed. I have a 3+ 2 chest of drawers and smallish wardrobe which doesn't feel enough. I tend to hang work clothes in the wardrobe with the more formal dresses, jackets etc but run out of space when it's trousers, jeans, sports clothes, tops, t-shirts, cardigans. I find I always have stuff in the ironing pile or putting away baskets as I just don't know what to do with it. I used to work in a very formal job so perhaps I have more work stuff that I don't really need (but hope to reenter the workplace at some stage).

I'm trying to get organised but not sure if I have too much stuff or is it lack of storage.

It sounds as though you have a lot of clothes.

I have one wardrobe with built in drawers then another one which I have the odd bit of hanging space and again small built in drawers and 2 shelves underneath. My dh also hangs stuff in the 2nd one and there is a shoe rack.

I also have 1 big drawer on the dressing table and dh has 2.

My tip is to pack away your Summer clothes so it frees up wardrobe space.

thanks..maybe I do have too many clothes! I have kept my work clothes when I do need to let them go.

I will channel my Kondo and ask if they bring me joySmile

We have one chest of drawers, on of which holds my make up/hair stuff/deodorants/brushes/general shite and one clothes rack. All DP and my clothes are stored between the two without issue.

I have one hanging rail, one bedside underwear drawer, a divan drawer with almost nothing in it and space on a shelf on the odd occasion all the washing is done.

I don't have many clothes!

My mum has 4 full wardrobes and about a dozen drawers filled with clothes!

we are very different people

I have a lot of clothes, shoes, accessories etc. So much that I have to have a dressing room. I've got 6 wardrobes and a chest of drawers and 2 bookcases that I use as shoe storage... Ridiculous I know.

4 double wardrobes, 2 for me, 2 for DH but I'm starting to take over half of one of those! A 6 drawer chest of draws and shoe storage under the bed. Accessories and bags are in the spare room. I don't actually consider myself to have a lot of clothes.

I also pack up summer clothes, they go into the loft!!

I did have a chest of drawers with my socks, underwear and tops in etc. and a wardrobe for things that get hung up.

Well I was getting sick of my clothes not being in one place, so went through and decided to get rid of stuff I haven't worn for ages or hate wearing, then swapped with my son's wardrobe which is bigger for storage. I broke down the old wardrobe and now have an ottoman for socks, etc. and getting a clothes rail to stick in the awkward space in my room to hang everything else up.

2 half drawers - one is socks/tights/pjs other is underwear
2 full length - one is tops/ going out dress other is bottom halfs and jumpers / cardis. A couple of coats hanging in h's wardrobe and a few summer frocks in a suitcase. Bikinis and kaftans I leave in mills house - this abroad and it is never warm enough here for me to sit on a beach in a bikini!
