generic hoover bags for Miele vaccuum?

I'm still getting to grips with my Miele as I've used nothing but Dysons for the past twenty years. The bags get full very quickly in our house and start to smell if I go past the time they should be replaced.

They aren't particularly cheap either and am wondering if anyone on here has used cheaper versions successfully? Recommendations please if you have

No, I've only used the miele ones, but following for tips!

I get cheap ones from eBay that are no different from Miele own brand, except they fit my Hoover better, oddly.

I tried some cheaper ones but they didn't stay attached

I buy my replacement ones from amazon. they fit fine and are loads cheaper

you can, but I would get the modern silver or white fleece ones, they are better at dust retention than paper. It is essential to have the rubber sealing ring in the hole.

Get a spare set of the filters, swap them each time you change the bag, and wash the old one in warm water and WUL, swap back next time you change the bag.

If you have a dog, consider getting the Charcoal deodorising exhaust filter, the one fitted to the cat and dog. It will also fit the other models. Don't lose the plastic frame which is needed for the unframed filters. You can also get dust-mite granules which kill or neutralise the allergens, and may reduce smells.

If your bags are filling up with old fluff, the amount will reduce once they have sucked up any accumulation.

p.s.

you can sometimes get genuine Miele bags at discount online

try dustdeal.com or dustbag.co.uk

a friend of mine runs a vacuum repair shop and always advises to use only genuine Miele bags. The cheapers ones can often split and come away from the collar as the suction is so strong.

First4Spares is the seller

LBOCS2 · 05/09/2015 09:03

First4spares are the ones I use too.

We use generic ones. They have a rubber sealing ring and come with a set of replacement filters. I put a few drops of zoflora on some tissue and put it in the bag to deodoriser it.

thanks everyone
